The doctor explained how to get rid of overeating

Weight loss drugs such as Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Wegovy can significantly facilitate the process of losing weight. They suppress appetite, reduce food cravings, and patients often say: “I don’t overeat because I’m just not hungry.” This creates the impression that the problem has already been solved. But in reality, it’s not.
Mounjaro and similar drugs are a therapy based on an analogue of the human hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). They are prescribed either to control glucose levels in patients with diabetes or for weight loss. They work effectively, but only for a certain period of time — many develop tolerance over time. The body gets used to the effects of the drug, and the effect gradually weakens.
It is then that the real reason for overeating often manifests itself — not physical hunger, but psychological dependence on food. This is the so-called compulsive (emotional) overeating, when food is used as a way to calm down, distract yourself or fill an emotional void. And here GLP-1 drugs no longer help. Other therapy is needed.
In such cases, the doctor may prescribe medication support that helps control emotional impulsivity, anxiety, and reduces compulsive food cravings. These are not dietary supplements or “herbal pills,” but prescription drugs that affect the nervous system. They are prescribed exclusively individually, not to all patients with overeating, but only to those who really need it.
It is also important to remember:
Dietary supplements are not a treatment. They may be useful in prevention, but they do not work in clinical eating disorders. Therefore, you should not waste time and seek professional help.
