Беспорядки в Индии из-за закона о гражданстве:в полиции сообщили о 26 жертвах
По всей Индии прокатилась волна протестов: общество требует отмены нового закона о гражданстве.
О последний событиях в стране передает инопресса, в которой отмечается, что индийская полиция сообщила о новых столкновениях и случаях насилия.

В минувшее воскресенье, 22 декабря число погибших в результате протестов по всей Индии возросло до 26 человек, сообщает полиция.
Центром протестов является северный штат Уттар-Прадеш (UP), где проживает большое мусульманское меньшинство.
Правительство штата заявило, что 6 человек, связанные с исламскими группировками, арестованы.
Полиция обвиняет арестованных в применении насилия во время демонстраций.
У нескольких погибших и раненых, в том числе у полицейских, зафиксированы огнестрельные ранения.
При этом представитель полиции заявил, что стражи порядка использовали водометы, дубинки и слезоточивый газ, но не стреляли в демонстрантов.
В ряде районов Уттар-Прадеша, в том числе в столице Лакхнау, ограничена работа интернета и мобильной связи.
Закон о поправках к гражданству, принятый на прошлой неделе предоставляет право гражданства нелегальным иммигрантам – немусульманам из Афганистана, Бангладеш и Пакистана – буддистам, христианам, индуистам, джайнам, парсам и сикхам, которые покинули эти три страны до 2015 года.
Протестующие считают закон дискриминационным.
Мусульманские лидеры считают, что новый закон будет связан с общенациональным мероприятием, где каждый гражданин должен будет доказать индийское гражданство.
Более 100 человек также были арестованы в разных частях штата в связи с насильственными протестами, сказал чиновник.
