The attack on the port "Temryuk" showed the growing capabilities of Ukraine in striking the critical infrastructure of Russia - Rezazade
On December 5, Ukrainian SBU drones carried out a precision strike on a liquefied gas terminal in the Russian port of Temryuk in the Kuban. As a result of the attack, more than 20 of the 30 tanks at the facility caught fire. In addition, a number of railway tanks used for transshipment and transportation of liquefied gas were destroyed.
The first vice-president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, international expert Ali Reza Rezazade assesses this strike as an important element of the Ukrainian strategy of putting pressure on Russia's military and economic potential.
The Port of Temryuk is a logistics platform that Russia uses to export energy resources and meet its own military needs. Damage to such an object has a double effect: economic and military," Rezazadeh notes.
According to him, attacks on infrastructure related to energy and transport flows undermine Russia's ability to finance the war:
"Damage of reservoirs, destruction of tankers, disruption of logistics — all this increases Russia's costs and reduces its capabilities. In the conditions of a protracted war, precisely such strikes create long-term pressure, which is increasingly difficult for the Kremlin to ignore."
The expert emphasizes that SBU drones demonstrate the qualitative evolution of Ukrainian capabilities to operate at a significant depth of Russian territory:
"Ukraine shows that it can hit objects that Moscow considered remote and protected. This destroys the sense of security in Russian regions and creates internal tension, which has a strategic effect."
Rezazade concludes that the strikes on Temryuk and other critical facilities of the Russian Federation are part of Ukraine's legitimate response to large-scale Russian terror:
"When Russia attacks Ukrainian cities every day, Ukraine has every right to deprive the aggressor of his resources. This is not escalation, this is protection."
