Weight loss drug Zepbound approved in the US - endocrinologist
Endocrinologist Olena Davydenko said that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday approved the drug Zepbound, created by Eli Lilly. This medication became the first approved for certain groups of patients with sleep apnea, and is also an effective means for weight loss.
According to Olena Davydenko, Zepbound has undergone all the necessary clinical studies that confirmed its safety for health when used under the supervision of a doctor. The drug is intended for the treatment of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in obese adults, and also promotes weight loss in combination with increased physical activity and adherence to a low-calorie diet.
The endocrinologist emphasized that Zepbound could be a breakthrough in the treatment of sleep apnea, as well as in the fight against excess weight.
