Єврокомісія починає обговорювати санкції проти Польщі

Ліберальні депутати Європарламенту напередодні розгляду закликали розпочати процедуру санкцій проти Польщі після того, як країна "продовжує відступати від норм верховенство права та незалежності суду".
Глава групи лібералів у Європарламенту Гі Верхофстадт заявив, що "ЄС має виступити проти відсторонення верховенства права, яке впроваджує уряд ПіС".
В листопаді під час дебатів у Європарламенті щодо польського питання, Верхофстадт заявляв, що ситуація у Польщі вже два роки вимагає застосування статті 7 договору про ЄС, в якій ідеться про серйозні загрози верховенству права.
15 листопада Європарламент схвалив критичну резолюцію щодо Польщі, яка рекомендує запустити процедуру застосування санкцій проти країни.
