Russia continues to provide intelligence to Iran – Ali Reza Rezazadeh
Moscow is conducting "clearly destructive activities" by continuing to provide information support to Iran, against which the US and Israel are waging war, the President of Ukraine said.
Ukraine has "irrefutable data" that Russia continues to provide intelligence information to Iran, against which the US and Israel are waging war. This was announced on Monday, March 23, by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky following the report of the Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleh Ivashchenko.
"We have irrefutable data that the Russians continue to provide intelligence information to the Iranian regime. Russia uses its own radio-technical and radio-electronic intelligence capabilities, as well as part of the interaction data from partners in the Middle East," Zelensky wrote on the Telegram channel.
Later, in a post on the X social network, he noted that Russia is conducting "clearly destructive activities that must be stopped." "By helping the Iranian regime stay afloat and deliver more precise strikes, Russia is actually continuing the war. It is necessary to respond," the Ukrainian leader emphasized. The United States has asked Russia not to share intelligence with Iran.
US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Stephen Witkoff, reported on March 8 that he had persistently asked Russia not to provide support to Iran. Shortly after, Witkoff said that the Russian leadership, during a telephone conversation with Trump, had rejected accusations of transferring intelligence to Iran. "Well, you can take their word for it. Let's hope they don't," Witkoff said.
The Washington Post previously reported that Moscow is providing Tehran with intelligence to launch strikes on US forces in the Middle East, thereby indirectly participating in the war.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Russia has expanded its military cooperation with the Islamic Republic and information support for Iran. In particular, Moscow is providing Tehran with satellite imagery and sharing advanced drone technology to help Iran strike US forces in the region, the publication said. At the same time, Russia has experience in the war against Ukraine.
