Премьера самого страшного фильма в истории оказалась под угрозой срыва
Об этом 31 мая сообщил портал Variety.
Работа над созданием картины практически закончена, по мнению Sony, ленту нужно запускать в прокат как низкобюджетный релиз, продюсеры же считают, что у фильма больший потенциал и настаивают на больших инвестициях в маркетинг.

Издание отмечает, что они показали почти готовую картину другим студиям, в том числе Netflix и Amazon, однако, по имеющейся информации, некоторые компании весьма скептически отнеслись к коммерческому потенциалу фильма.
Отметим, Слендермен — это персонаж, придуманный участником известного форума Something Awful в 2009 году. Проблемой в случае данного фильма является то, что в мае 2014 года две девочки, у которых позднее было диагностировано психические заболевания, вдохновившись выдуманной историей о Слендермене, убили свою подругу. Некоторые эксперты считают, что фильм негативно будет встречен в соцсетях.
