Разъяренные слоны затоптали тайца до смерти
Об этом сообщает издание The Nation.
По данным издания, житель провинции направлялся на работу в поля. По дороге он наткнулся на группу слонов, которые принялись его топтать. Когда местная полиция прибыла на место происшествия, то на теле 40-летнего тайца обнаружили множественные повреждения спины и головы.
По данным Тайского центра охраны слонов, популяция диких слонов существенно сократилась. На сегодняшний день их насчитывают около 2,7 тысячи. Кроме того, в последние несколько десятилетий эти животные были вынуждены сменить места обитания ближе к человеку из-за вырубки лесов.

Несмотря на то, что слоны находятся под защитой государства, они часто стают жертвами браконьеров или их насильно приручают местные жители.
