В Канаде грузовой поезд едва не вызвал экологическую катастрофу
На юге канадской провинции Альберта с рельсов сошли вагоны, в которых транспортировали химикаты.
Об этом сообщила канадская газета Calgary Herald.
Как пишет издание, в понедельник утром вблизи города Баронс в округе Летбридж по неизвестным причинам потерпел крушение локомотив и 21 вагон. В трех из них было взрывоопасное вещество октан, которое в результате аварии стало вытекать.
Пожарным удалось остановить утечку, но из-за взрывоопасности октана людей все же решили временно эвакуировать в радиусе двух километров от места происшествия. Также на несколько часов перекрыли трассу, которая пролегает рядом с местом аварии поезда.
Вечером 2 сентября эвакуацию в округе Летбридж отменили и местным жителям разрешили вернуться домой. Спасатели продолжают удалять разлитый октан.
В результате происшествия никто не пострадал.
