В США скончался легендарный архитектор Бэй Юймин
В возрасте 102 лет в США, в четверг, 16 мая умер создатель знаменитой пирамиды Лувра, введенную в "эксплуатацию" в 1989 году.
О смерти архитектора сообщает The New York Times.
В послужном списке Юймина такие проекты, как Национальный центр атмосферных исследований в Колорадо, Зал славы и музей рок-н-ролла в Кливленде и Эверсонский художественный музей в Нью-Йорке.
Бэй Юймин родился в 1917 году в Китае.
В США архитектор переехал в возрасте 18 лет.
Уже в Америке Бэй Юймин закончил Массачусетский технологический институт, а затем Высшую школу дизайна Гарвардского университета
В 1983 году он был удостоен престижной архитектурной награды — Притцкеровской премии.
Последним на настоящий момент проектом Бэй Юймина стал Музей исламского искусства в столице Катара, строительство которого было завершено в 2006 году.
Ранее сообщалось, что в Калифорнии умерла Дорис Дэй, одна из наиболее известных актрис Голливуда 1960-х годов.
Дэй было 97 лет и, как сообщили ее представители, она умерла в окружении друзей.
