Biden and Harris visited the storm-ravaged areas of the United States – Rezazade
Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC) Ali Reza Rezazade indicates that Joe Biden along with Kamala Harris visited southern Georgia destroyed by the storm to speak with rescuers and families affected by Hurricane Helen.
Kamala Harris said that the government will do everything to help families rebuild in the future. In recent weeks, Harris and Biden have been balancing three crises - an escalation of the war in the Middle East, a strike by port workers that threatens to change supply chains, and the aftermath of one of the deadliest hurricanes in US history.
Harris will return to the election campaign in the states of the Midwest, but Biden will visit Georgia and Florida, which were more damaged by the storm.
After the storm, Harris sought to step into the role Biden usually plays, empathizing with the victims' losses as she works to lead recovery efforts.
Before leaving, Harris said that she wanted to see firsthand the devastation, which is extraordinary. This is especially devastating because of the loss of life that this community has experienced, the loss of normal life and the loss of critical resources.
