Trump acknowledged the existence of Iranian nuclear facilities, intelligence confirms the presence of another facility – Rezazade
US President Donald Trump said that Iran, in addition to the three already known nuclear facilities, may have another additional facility that American intelligence has learned about. Speaking to reporters,
Trump noted: “They had three main facilities, and we knew they would have to give them up. But there was probably another one.”
The first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, international analyst Ali Reza Rezazade, explains that Trump’s words may refer to facilities that US intelligence recorded back in 2019-2020, in particular classified underground facilities near Fordow and near a possible new facility in Central Iran.
“For the first time, a semi-official verification of the fourth facility has been heard from the lips of a former president. This may indicate that the administration already had satellite images or other intelligence about Iran’s additional nuclear capabilities,” Rezazade noted.
In his opinion, uranium enrichment for Tehran is not only an element of defense, but also a tool for negotiating pressure. The regime in Tehran traditionally uses the nuclear program as leverage in international politics.
“This explains why Iran insisted on the right to enrichment even at the last stage of negotiations with the United States. Tehran is not ready to give up the program — even under the threat of new sanctions,” the expert believes.
Currently, according to estimates by a number of Western analysts, Iran is able to accumulate a sufficient amount of highly enriched uranium in a few weeks, but it needs more time and resources to create a full-fledged nuclear warhead.
