3.⁠ ⁠The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that Amir Fakhravar is indeed one of the Iranian dissidents targeted for assassination by the Iranian regime.

Since 2021, the FBI has informed Amir Fakhravar that he was the target of several terrorist plots by the Islamic regime of Iran, including the Qods Force of the IRGC. Fakhravar was authorized by the FBI to publicly identify himself as one of the dissidents targeted by the regime mentioned in statements by the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury.

In an interview with NewsMax, Fakhravar expressed deep gratitude to the Bureau for the protection provided to him. An FBI statement dated August 5, 2022, confirmed a criminal case against the Islamic Republic of Iraq and the Levant (KIR) agents, including Shahram Poursafi, identified as being involved in the assassination plot. Poursafi was trying to identify Fakhravar's home address in order to carry out a hit-and-run operation. The FBI has access to a voice recording of Shahram Poursafi's conversation in which he tried to establish Fakhrawar's whereabouts.

The case is an example of the regime's long-standing efforts in Iran to silence its critics abroad, including in the United States. Fakhravar recalls the assassination of Ruhollah Zam, the creator of AmadNews and a critic of the Iranian regime. Ruhollah Zam was also a member of the Senate Board of the National Iranian Congress for seven years, and this association with Amir Fakhravar and the National Iranian Congress was cited by the Iranian regime as justification for sentencing Zam to the death penalty.

His execution is a testament to the Iranian regime's relentless persecution and killing of its critics. Amir Fakhravar noted that the regime's attempts to kill its critics both inside and outside Iran only strengthen the determination of the people of Iran, the National Iranian Congress and all like-minded people to remove the repressive regime and replace it with a freely elected government under a new Constitution that will guarantee the freedom of all Iranian citizens.
