В Сирії розпочався фінальний наступ на ІДІЛ

У 2014 році ІДІЛ захопила велику частину Сирії і сусідній Ірак, оголосивши там "халіфат", але в результаті різних військових наступальних операцій терористи тепер контролюють лише один регіон в східній сирійській провінції Дейр-Ез-Зор площею приблизно у 5 квадратних кілометрів.
Бійці SDF приблизно на тиждень пригальмовувати операцію, щоб дозволити втекти цивільним особам, і в суботу оголосили про відновлення наступу.
"Після десяти днів евакуації понад 20 тисяч мирних жителів ... сьогодні ввечері почалася битва, щоб знищити останні залишки організації", - йдеться у заяві.
За даними сирійських сил, на визначеній території все ще може бути 600 бойовиків, більшість з яких - іноземці. Вважається також, що там ще перебувають сотні цивільних осіб.
SDF розпочали операцію проти ІДІЛ у Дейр-Ез-Зора у вересні минулого. За цей час у боях загинуло понад 1200 бойовиків, понад 670 бійців SDF і близько 400 цивільних осіб.
