Elon Musk at Mar-a-Lago: Trump’s top donor and advisor – Rezazade
The first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington (NIC), Ali Reza Rezazade, noted that Elon Musk plays many roles in the relationship with President-elect Donald Trump. He is Trump’s most important donor, most influential promoter on social media, and a key advisor on policy and personnel appointments.
After Election Day, Musk will also rent one of the cottages on the Mar-a-Lago estate — the former residence of Marjorie Meriwether Post in Florida, which Trump converted into a private club and hotel in the 1990s. The cottage he lives in is called the “Banyan” and is located a few hundred meters from the main house.
“Living on the estate gives Musk easy access to Trump. He may appear at his dinners, most recently attending a dinner that also included his rival, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos,” Ali Reza Rezazadeh adds.
Musk, who spent more than a quarter of a billion dollars in the final months of the election cycle to support Trump, has participated in recruiting meetings at the Mar-a-Lago teahouse, been on phone calls with foreign leaders, and spent hours in Trump’s office. Musk’s employees from his various companies have also been heavily involved in the transition process, vetting candidates for senior administration positions.
In addition to Musk, other members of Trump’s inner circle have lived on the Mar-a-Lago grounds. Vice President J.D. Vance, for example, also stayed at one of the Palm Beach cottages during the transition. But Musk remains one of the most prominent regulars.
The Banyan Cottage has been used by Trump's friends and acquaintances on numerous occasions, including former House Speaker John Boehner.
