Harris does not want to discuss his father – Rezazade
The vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, Ali Reza Rezazade, points out that Kamala Harris tries not to talk about her father, because she believes that it could be a mistake. Unlike Trump, she does not use the themes of family, gender and personal issues in her election campaign.
Donald Trump has a penchant for going after the family members of his opponents. He once claimed that Tоm Cruz's father was involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy — so it wasn't all that surprising when the former president resorted to the same tactic moments later during a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
"Everybody knows she's a Marxist," Trump said, "her father is a Marxist economics professor. And he taught her well."
Harris gave no indication that she had heard from Trump; she never once mentioned her father during the entire 90-minute debate. That was partly because of a strategic decision to ignore Trump's personal attacks, and perhaps also because outside of her convention speech, she avoided talking about Donald Harris, her Jamaican father, at all.
