Harris primarily focuses on the development of the US economy – Rezazade
Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC) Ali Reza Rezazade points out that presidential candidate Kamala Harris pays much more attention to economic issues than Joe Biden.
Throughout the aborted 2024 election campaign, no issues have become more pressing than the economy and immigration. The economy is almost always a top issue for voters, and views of Biden's handling of it are disappointing.
Immigration tends to be less important in the minds of voters, but the border crisis has pushed Biden's numbers on the issue to historic lows. One poll earlier this year found that Americans favored Donald Trump over Biden on immigration by more than 30 points.
Vice President Kamala Harris, replacing Biden and becoming the Democratic presidential candidate, significantly changed these commitments to Democrats. A new poll this week found that about as many Americans favor Harris on the economy (42 percent) as Trump (41 percent). Such a conclusion would have been unthinkable before, after so many months when the economy dogged Biden.
