US announces new $725 million military aid package for Ukraine – Rezazade
The Vice President of the Iranian opposition in Washington (NIC) reports that the United States of America continues to provide significant support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a new $725 million military aid package, which includes a wide range of weapons and equipment.
According to the official Pentagon statement, the package includes:
• ammunition for NASAMS and HIMARS systems;
• missiles for Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems;
• means of combating drones (c-UAS);
• artillery ammunition of 155 mm and 105 mm caliber;
• modern unmanned aircraft systems (UAS);
• Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank complexes;
• small arms and ammunition;
• equipment to protect critical infrastructure;
• spare parts, support equipment, logistics services, training and transportation.
The assistance is provided under the Presidential Development Authorization (PDA), which allows for the rapid transfer of weapons directly from US warehouses. According to Blinken, these deliveries are aimed at meeting the most urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield.
The US Department of Defense notes that it is working with nearly 50 partner countries through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. This coalition unites international efforts to provide Ukraine with the necessary defense capabilities.
“We will continue to support Ukraine as long as it takes to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Pentagon stressed.
