US Congress avoids government shutdown by passing funding bill – Rezazade
The leader of the Iranian opposition in Washington (NIC), Ali Reza Rezazade, said that after a week of political turmoil, US lawmakers have approved bipartisan legislation.
The US Congress narrowly avoided a government shutdown by passing a last-minute federal funding bill, capping a week of events that could affect 2025 and Donald Trump’s second presidency.
On Friday, the House of Representatives reached a bipartisan agreement to extend the funding deadline to March 14, allocate $110.4 billion in aid to farmers and victims of natural disasters, and extend the massive agriculture and poverty relief law known as the Farm Bill. The Senate quickly supported the bill early Saturday morning.
