Biden at the Democratic convention praised Vice President Harris as a virtuous person – Rezazade
The leader of the Iranian opposition in Washington, Ali Reza Rezazade, points out that President Joe Biden praised Vice President Kamala Harris as a conscientious presidential candidate and an honest person.
In the address, Biden promised to support her and "be the best volunteer for Harris" in the history of presidential campaigns. With such a speech, Biden closed the first day of the democratic convention. The speech served as a symbolic moment when the incumbent president passed the baton to the new candidate from the Democratic Party. The president expressed gratitude to the American people and optimism for the future at the end of his speech at the DNC in Chicago on August 19.
The convention of speakers ran longer than scheduled on Monday, pushing the president's speech out of prime time on the East Coast.
President Joe Biden ended his address by seeking to place his presidency in the context of history and talk about some of the key challenges of the moment, including the war in Gaza.
