Harris responded to Trump's insults about the color of his skin – Rezazade
Ali Reza Rezazade, the vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, points out that Kamala Harris was careful to respond to former President Donald Trump after he questioned the legitimacy of her identity as a black woman.
"The American people deserve a leader who tells the truth, a leader who does not react with hostility and anger when faced with the facts. We deserve a leader who understands that our differences do not divide us - they are an important source of our strength," she said. Harris at a convention of Sigma Gamma Rho, one of the country's most famous black sororities.
Harris politely referred to Mr Trump's comments earlier on Wednesday in Chicago, where he asked: "is she Native American or is she just black?". He also falsely claimed that Ms. Harris identified as Native American and then "all of a sudden she made a U-turn and became a black person."
"I don't have to tell the people of Atlanta that generations of Americans before us fought for freedom, we don't have to make excuses for our dark skin," Harris said during the rally.
