The vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, Ali Reza Rezazade, points out that the post of defense minister in Trump's cabinet is quite important.
Currently, three names are mentioned among the most likely candidates.
Mike Pompeo is Trump's ex-Secretary of State. He is noted for his public support for Israel and for expanding permits for the use of American weapons in Ukraine.
Tom Cotton is the first contender for the position of Secretary of Defense in the last term of Trump. He publicly advocated the provision of necessary weapons to Ukraine. But generally supports the rhetoric of reducing the role of the US in wars in Europe.
Well, for this position, as well as for the position of State Secretary, Mike Waltz is named among the applicants.
