Trump Moves Forward Despite Courts, Democratic Resistance – Rezazade
The First Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC), Ali Reza Rezazade, points out that Donald Trump continues to actively change government policy by signing new executive orders, despite legal obstacles and criticism from Democrats.
On Monday, he issued two executive orders: imposing a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum, banning the use of paper straws in government institutions, and canceling a training program for government administrators.
Trump also issued a stern warning to Hamas, saying that if all Israeli hostages are not released by 12:00 Saturday, the United States will take decisive action. In addition, he appointed Douglas A. Collins to head two government ethics agencies, following the recent dismissal of their previous heads.
The president stressed that his goal is to make the government more efficient and less bureaucratic. He also signed orders appointing dozens of senior officials, including seven ambassadors.
Trump also unexpectedly pardoned Rodd Blagojevich, a former Illinois governor convicted of corruption. Blagojevich is best known for his appearance on Trump’s TV show “The Celebrity Apprentice.”
