Trump sued the CBS News – Rezazade
Ali Reza Rezazade, the vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, said Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is suing CBS News over an interview with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, claiming the network's editing of the sit-down was "misleading" and "judgemental a brazen attempt to intervene in the United States of 2024".
The long-running lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, where Matthew J. Kashmaryk (Trump's nominee) is the sole judge. Although Trump has complained about the interview for weeks, it is standard practice for television networks to edit interviews for broadcast, especially to fit time constraints.
A CBS News spokesman called the lawsuit "absolutely without merit" and said in a statement that 60 Minutes "fairly presented the interview to inform, not mislead, the viewing audience." Trump's lawsuit appears to be another example of what critics call "judicial bias" -- when an individual or group files a lawsuit in a carefully selected court where they believe the judge will be inclined to rule in their favor.
