The US plans to stop the war between Israel and Lebanon - Rezazade
Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC) Ali Reza Rezazade indicates that the Biden administration is outraged that its diplomacy has failed to contain Israel and de-escalate the Middle East conflict, but as the expert points out, the administration has a new opportunity for constructive engagement: to help the Armed Forces Lebanon to fill the void left by the collapse of Hezbollah and restore the sovereignty of the Lebanese government.
Such options for developments in the Biden administration began to be discussed after the Israeli government went against the ceasefire agreements and destroyed the entire leadership branch of Hezbollah, including the head Hassan Nasrallah. Critics say Israel's leadership is creating chaos by killing civilians and children in addition to the military. According to the UN, more than 1 million Lebanese civilians were forced to leave their homes due to Israeli hostilities.
The United States can make a critical difference by working with the Lebanese Armed Forces to strengthen their ability to regain control of the country's borders for a ceasefire.
