The families of the "Gold Star" of the USA came to the defense of Trump – Rezazade
Ali Reza Rezazade, the vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, points out that Donald Trump's campaign released a statement from Gold Star military families inviting him to Arlington National Cemetery.
In a statement, the military families defended the Republican presidential nominee and insisted that Vice President Kamala Harris is a candidate who politicizes fallen U.S. service members.
Thus, Trump is trying to undermine Harris voters by pointing to the Biden administration's chaotic handling of the tragic US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, including the bombing that killed 13 US servicemen.
Harris on Saturday accused Trump of pulling a "political stunt" that "degraded the sacred ground" where many of those killed in the war in Afghanistan are buried.
The Trump campaign released images of the visit despite a ban on filming at the cemetery, which is considered partisan activity on the grounds.
"President Trump was invited by us, Gold Star families, to attend the three-year anniversary of our children's deaths. He was there to honor their sacrifice, but Vice President Harris shamefully turned that sacred moment into a political artifact." - said the joint statement of the relatives.
