Musk and Trump’s Conflict Is Not About Taxes, But About the Future of US Economic Responsibility – Rezazade
Elon Musk’s explosive criticism of Donald Trump’s new tax and immigration bill is not just another public clash between the two loudest names in America’s political and business environment.
This is a deeper symptom of a split within the US conservative camp over basic economic values. This was stated by the first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, international expert Ali Reza Rezazade.
“The fact that Musk called the bill a “disgusting monster” and an “unsustainable debt nightmare” is the cry of one of the main players in American business, who understands that populism has its price. And it is trillions of dollars,” the expert emphasizes.
According to the assessment of the impartial Congressional Budget Office, Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” will increase the US national debt by $2.4 trillion over 10 years. Musk, who until recently was an ally of Trump and headed the retrenchment structure U.S. DOGE Service, is now speaking out with harsh criticism, effectively turning into a mouthpiece for Republican fiscal “hawks”.
“Musk is not so much attacking Trump as the very idea that populist tax cuts and spending increases can go unpunished. This is an attempt to protect the economy from a debt spiral. And if even he, the main beneficiary of deregulation and stimulus, is outraged by this, then the situation is truly critical,” Rezazade notes.
Against this background, the Senate is discussing how to cut more than $ 1 trillion in social spending, while maintaining defense funding and part of the “clean energy” of the Biden era, which only increases the cost of the bill. But the political price is becoming even higher: Musk directly called for the dismissal of all politicians “who betrayed the American people”.
“This sounds like an ultimatum not only to Trump, but to the entire Republican Party. Musk wants to turn his influence into a real force in the upcoming elections, becoming a mouthpiece for smart capitalism, not fiscal anarchism,” Rezazade believes.
At the same time, the expert emphasizes: Musk is also not blameless in his assessments. “His statements confuse deficit with national debt. But this only emphasizes the main thing: there is no unity in the US regarding economic strategy, and the world sees that even the richest and most influential do not know how to stop the debt tsunami.”
Rezazade concludes: “The Musk-Trump clash is not a battle of egos. It is a battle for the future of the US economy. And the question is not who will win, but whether America will be able to avoid the financial catastrophe that it is preparing for itself.”
