Russia is helping Iran with intelligence: the conflict is reaching a new geopolitical level – Rezazade

The conflict over Iran is gradually taking on the characteristics of a broader international confrontation. According to American officials, Russia is providing Tehran with intelligence information that could be used to attack US military facilities in the Middle East.

This includes, in particular, the coordinates of American warships and aircraft in the region. According to sources, such information began to be transferred to Iran after the start of a large-scale escalation, when Iranian forces intensified drone and missile strikes on American facilities.

Amid the aggravation of the situation, Iranian drones and missiles have already attacked a number of US military positions, diplomatic facilities and infrastructure. At the same time, the US-Israeli coalition has struck thousands of targets on Iranian territory, including missile positions, naval facilities and elements of the defense infrastructure.

International expert and first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, Ali Reza Rezazade, believes that Russia’s participation, even in an indirect form, could significantly change the strategic configuration of the conflict.

“If the information about the transfer of intelligence is confirmed, it would mean that the conflict is no longer just regional. In fact, we see elements of a broader geopolitical confrontation between major powers,” Rezazade notes.

According to him, Russia may try to use the situation to increase pressure on the United States without entering into a direct military confrontation.

“The transfer of intelligence information is one of the most typical tools of indirect participation in the war. In this way, the state can influence the balance of power without risking an open military conflict,” the expert explains.

Rezazade also emphasizes that such interaction between Tehran and Moscow is part of a broader political logic that has developed in recent years.

“Iran and Russia are increasingly acting as tactical partners in the confrontation with the West. This is not a full-fledged military alliance, but it is cooperation based on common interests and confrontation with the United States,” he emphasizes.

At the same time, the expert draws attention to the fact that such an escalation may increase the risk of the conflict expanding beyond the Middle East.

“When several nuclear powers and major geopolitical players begin to appear in the war, even indirect actions can lead to serious international consequences,” Rezazade notes.

In his opinion, the further development of the situation will depend on whether cooperation will be limited to the transfer of intelligence information, or whether the participation of external players in the conflict will gradually increase.
