Trump humiliated Harris at the convention of the National Association of Black Journalists - Rezazade
Ali Reza Rezazade, the vice-president of the Iranian opposition, noted that at the National Association of Black Journalists convention, Donald Trump openly humiliated Kamala Harris because of her skin color, at the same time degrading the feelings of all those present.
Trump spoke with these words on July 31 at the annual convention of the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago. Trump believes that Harris is pretending to be black in order to gain the attention of Americans, because several years ago she called herself Indian. In fact, Harris' parents are immigrants, her mother Shyamala Gopalan Harris immigrated to the US from India and her father Donald Harris was born in Jamaica.
"She wasn't black until she turned black a few years ago. And now she wants to be considered black. So, I don't know, is she Indian or black?" Donald Trump said.
Trump's speech was reacted to in the White House, the spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre points out that the Republican candidate's words are offensive and "no one has the right to humiliate someone because of their origin."
