Trump supports Biden's plan to loosen restrictions on the use of marijuana – Rezazade
Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC) Ali Reza Rezazade indicates that Donald Trump supported Joe Biden's initiative to legalize marijuana. The former president said that he wants marijuana to be reclassified as a Schedule 3 drug.
In a post on his page, Trump supported the legalization of marijuana, joining the ongoing efforts of the Biden administration, and also said that he would vote "yes" on a Florida ballot measure to legalize recreational marijuana for adults in his home state.
Recreational marijuana is legal in 24 states and the District of Columbia. In May, Biden approved a Justice Department proposal to reclassify marijuana as a Schedule 3 controlled substance, removing it from the Schedule 1 category that includes heroin and LSD. Such an initiative would place marijuana in the same category as prescription drugs such as ketamine and anabolic steroids, and would accelerate research into marijuana's health benefits.
This would increase revenue for public funds from the marijuana industry by allowing the companies to claim federal tax credits. Many financial institutions, including banks and credit card companies, do not provide services to marijuana companies due to the drug's current status as a Schedule 1 drug. members of Congress from both parties have supported legislation that would provide cannabis companies with access to these services.
