Trump's ex-lawyer Giuliani was banned from practicing law in the US – Rezazade
Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC) Ali Reza Rezazade indicates that a panel of judges of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia District barred Rudolph W. Giuliani from practicing law because he made false statements about the results of the 2020 election while he was the personal attorney of former President Donald Trump.
Giuliani's spokesman, Ted Goodman, said the court's decision was "an absolute travesty and a complete miscarriage of justice."
"People who come after Giuliani cannot take away the fact that he remains the most effective prosecutor in American history, who has done more to improve the lives of others than almost any other American alive today," Goodman said.
Giuliani served as US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and later as New York City Mayor. He was admitted to the bar in 1976 while serving as a senior official at the Department of Justice during the Ford administration.
The Court of the District of Columbia recognizes that Giuliani "unreasonably attacked and undermined the integrity of the electoral process of this country." The New York decision continued: "In doing so, respondent not only willfully violated some of the most fundamental principles of the legal profession, but also actively contributed to the national strife that followed the 2020 presidential election, for which he has absolutely no remorse."
