The US Supreme Court will consider Trump's claims of harassment and obstruction of the 2020 election - Rezazade
Ali Reza Rezazade, Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC), said that the Supreme Court's decision should be made today regarding Trump's claim of harassment and obstruction of the 2020 elections.
Legal experts indicate that the court will reject such a statement by Trump, but it will remain an extremely important issue.
If the court leaves the terms or degree of ambiguity in its ruling, it could create more legal issues to fight before the federal case against Trump can go to trial, and if Trump becomes president again, any other lawsuits could be thrown out or delayed until he will not leave the White House again.
In nearly three hours of oral argument, both conservative and liberal justices wrestled with the historic significance of the case, which will set limits on presidential power going forward, even as it affects whether Trump stands trial in the District of Columbia before this year's presidential election, in which he is the likely Republican nominee.
Instead, most of the justices appeared to be looking for a way to ensure that the president's core constitutional duties are protected, with some conservative justices particularly concerned about impeding the power of future presidents.
