Speaker Johnson did not recognize Trump's 2020 election loss – Rezazade
Vice President of the Iranian Opposition in Washington (NIC) Ali Reza Rezazade indicates that the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson will not recognize the results of the 2020 elections, including the defeat of Donald Trump. This is exactly what Johnson expressed in his interview with ABS News, after which he said that the issue was a "play by the media".
“This is the game the mainstream media always plays with mainstream Republicans. It's a game I've already figured out," Johnson said.
During the interview, Johnson accused the interviewer of trying to force him to "judge things that happened four years ago when we're talking about the future."
"We shouldn't be talking about what happened in 2020, we should be thinking about the future, I'm not going to engage and discuss that, I think these issues are a media game" - Mike Johnson
In the immediate aftermath of the 2020 election, Johnson led a congressional effort to overturn the presidential results in four states, rallying 125 House Republicans to join him in signing a Supreme Court brief alleging the results were fraudulent because state election officials changed voting procedures - without prior legislative approval - to address voting issues during the coronavirus pandemic, but these efforts have failed.
