Trump Warns Iran of Tough Response if Strait of Hormuz Mines Mined – Rezazade
US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning about possible attempts to mine the Strait of Hormuz.
In a new addition to his previous message, the American leader said that the United States is ready to use military technology and missile systems to destroy any ships that try to block one of the world's key sea routes.
According to Trump, in the event of an attempt to plant mines in the strait, the United States will act quickly and harshly. He stressed that American forces can use the same technological capabilities that were previously used in the fight against international drug cartels at sea.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important energy corridors on the planet. A significant part of the world's oil and liquefied gas supplies pass through it. Any attempt to block this route can instantly affect global energy markets and stability in the Middle East region.
International expert and first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, Ali Reza Rezazade, believes that Trump's statement is part of a broader strategy to contain Iran.
"The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic artery of world energy. Any attempts to mine or block it will be viewed by the United States not only as a regional threat, but as a challenge to global economic security," Rezazade notes.
According to him, such statements are aimed primarily at preventing a possible escalation.
"Washington is demonstrating its readiness to act preventively. The purpose of such warnings is to prevent a situation where Iran or its allies try to use the sea routes as a tool of political pressure," the expert explains.
Rezazade also emphasizes that blocking the Strait of Hormuz could have global consequences for energy markets.
“If the movement of ships through the strait is disrupted, it will instantly affect world energy prices and the stability of many economies. That is why the issue of security in this water area always remains one of the main ones in international politics,” he emphasizes.
According to the expert, the tough rhetoric of the United States is a signal that Washington seeks to prevent the transformation of sea routes into an instrument of military-political blackmail.
“Today, it is not only about a regional conflict. It is about control over the world’s key transport arteries and who will guarantee their security,” Ali Reza Rezazade summarizes.
