Trump’s exit from the G7 summit: not diplomacy, but a signal for a new war – Rezazade

US President Donald Trump left the G7 summit in Canada early, amid the fifth day of the conflict between Israel and Iran. After intense consultations, he did sign the final statement of the leaders, but the document came out changed - without a call for restraint on both sides, with only a confirmation of Israel’s right to self-defense.
The White House explained Trump’s departure by the “urgent security situation in the Middle East”. The night before, he made a public statement calling for the evacuation of Tehran, which immediately caused panic on Iranian networks. Despite diplomatic efforts by allies, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump rejected the idea of a truce, saying: “Sometimes they just have to fight.”
At the same time, the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz has already been sent to the region, and the Pentagon has confirmed the movement of military transport ships to the Persian Gulf. American officials are avoiding a direct answer about the participation of the United States in a potential conflict, but the active military mobilization leaves no doubt about Washington's readiness to act.
Analysis of the situation by Ali Reza Rezazade
First Vice President of the Iranian opposition in Washington, international expert Ali Reza Rezazade considers Trump's withdrawal from the G7 summit a "point of no return" in American foreign policy:
"This is not just a diplomatic insult to allies. This is a demonstrative rejection of the collective security system that the United States itself created after World War II. Trump has effectively confirmed that he is ready to support Israel in a war with Iran without any preconditions," Rezazade emphasizes.
The expert points out that such behavior creates a dangerous precedent:
“The world is watching how the US president legitimizes a military response as a political tool. His phrase about “fighting” is not about de-escalation, but about giving a green light to confrontation.”
According to Rezazade, such a US position undermines not only global stability, but also America’s image as an international mediator:
“Washington is losing moral leadership. And NATO allies see that the American line is unpredictable and depends not on strategic interests, but on the emotions of one person.”
What does this mean for Ukraine?
Rezazade emphasizes: “As the US’s attention shifts to the Middle East, the risks for Ukraine are growing. We must intensify diplomatic work with Congress, not just with the White House. Otherwise, there is a threat that support will be situational.”
