Ukrainian drones hit oil refineries deep in Russia – Rezazade (Video, Photo)
On the night of October 31, Ukrainian drones carried out pinpoint strikes on facilities of the Russian fuel and energy complex — in particular, on the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant in Bashkortostan and the Nizhny Novgorod refinery. In addition, explosions were heard in the Volgograd and Kursk regions — preliminary reports indicate damage to electrical substations in Frolovo and Rylsk.
According to the first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, international expert Ali Reza Rezazade, these attacks have not only military, but also political significance.
“The fact that Ukrainian drones reach facilities that supply the energy infrastructure of central Russia is a strategic signal to the Kremlin. This is a demonstration of the vulnerability of the aggressor's economy and at the same time a warning: the war that Putin unleashed is returning to the very heart of his state,” Rezazade noted.
In his opinion, strikes on Russian oil and energy facilities change the course of the war on a psychological level. They show that even under conditions of air control and propaganda isolation, Russians can no longer feel safe.
“Each new strike by Ukrainian drones is not just the destruction of infrastructure. It is the collapse of the myth of the inaccessibility of the Russian rear. And that is why the Putin regime is increasingly demonstrating nervous reactions — from tightening censorship to deploying air defense systems in the central regions,” the expert explained.
Ali Reza Rezade also emphasized that Ukraine is waging war in a civilized manner, targeting exclusively the military and industrial infrastructure of the aggressor state, while Russia continues to shell Ukrainian homes.
"When Russian missiles destroy the homes of civilians and Ukrainian drones strike facilities that support Putin's military machine, this is the fundamental difference between a defender and an aggressor. And the world should see this," he emphasized.
