Netanyahu has put forward conditions for a deal with Iran: focus on dismantling, not compromise – Rezazade

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly outlined a list of key conditions under which Tel Aviv is ready to support possible talks between the West and Iran. 

This is not about partial restrictions, but about the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear and missile infrastructure, as well as the elimination of the regional network of proxy forces, which Israel calls the “axis of terror.”

The statement came after Netanyahu met with Donald Trump in the United States. According to the Israeli prime minister, the current situation creates a unique “window of opportunity” for reaching an agreement, but only on condition of Iran’s complete surrender on strategic issues.

Among Israel’s key demands:
— the complete removal of all enriched uranium from Iran;
— the dismantling of all enrichment facilities and equipment;
— limiting the range of Iranian missiles to 300 km in accordance with the MTCR regime;
— eliminating the so-called “axis of terror” — a network of groups allied with Tehran in the region;
— conducting tough international inspections without warning.

International expert and first vice president of the Iranian opposition in Washington, Ali Reza Rezazade, believes that Netanyahu’s statement actually means changing the very philosophy of the negotiations.

“We are no longer talking about controlling or deterring Iran. Israel is offering a model of complete strategic disarmament. This is not a diplomatic compromise, but an ultimatum in the form of an agreement,” the expert notes.

According to Rezazadeh, Israel’s position demonstrates distrust of any “temporary solutions” similar to the 2015 nuclear deal.

“Netanyahu makes it clear: stopping the programs is not enough. What is needed is dismantling. This means that Israel does not believe in the control mechanism, but only believes in the physical destruction of the infrastructure,” he explains.

Separately, Rezazade draws attention to the demand to eliminate the “axis of terror.”

“In fact, we are talking not only about the nuclear program, but about the entire regional architecture of Iran’s influence — from Lebanon to Yemen. This means that any agreement must transform Tehran’s foreign policy itself,” the expert emphasizes.

In his opinion, such a position makes negotiations extremely unlikely in the classical format.

“For the Iranian regime, these conditions are tantamount to strategic defeat. Therefore, either we will see a radical break in Tehran’s policy, or the conflict will transition to a new phase of forceful pressure,” Ali Reza Rezazade summarizes.
